Abbi Kenny is an emerging artist, and painter living and working part-time in both Providence, Rhode Island and Bedford, Massachusetts. A senior at the Rhode Island School of Design, she is majoring in painting with a concentration in art history. As an artist born, raised, and living in New England, it often becomes the backdrop for her inquiries into quotidian activities. Her artistic practice exists between the divisions of painting and drawing. They are, for her, one indistinguishably connected practice. In her works, she considers what stories the remnants of daily life and interactions tell, such as the ways history and politics embed themselves in contemporary experiences. As well as the way taste is learned, constructed, and defined.
